Speaking about Cute Sagay…
Cute Chuka Onoritsebawoete Sagay, popularly known as cuteSAGAY is a Nigerian born, Multi Award Winning, Recording/Performing Artist, Power House Worship Leader, Gifted Song Writer, Super Model & Show Host.
Family means everything to him, and this includes the extended “world” family, hence his vision of spreading the love message across the globe, through his music.
Cute has been blessed and opportuned to have begun his musical career from the early age of Nine (9), and even though he is privileged enough to cut through all genres of music, his musical foundation is basically r&b/soul, soft rock and pop.
He defines his music as soul stirring and inspiring, coated with beautiful lyrics and accompanied by heavenly melodies that reaches the very heart of the world, cutting through age, sex, colour and religious barriers.
cuteSAGAY further penned the socially driven song MAKE THAT CHANGE (2010) (a direct focus on the global family), with its soul searching lyrics and melody. He has several other popular songs to his credit, chiefly being IMELA (2011), BELIEVER (2012), TAKE THE WORLD (2013)… & the latest HIT singles still rocking the world stage… OurGOD (2014) and ONYEDIKAGI (2015)!
The critically acclaimed video for IMELA was shot in January of 2013, but was not released to media outlets till the 18th of April of the same year. IMELA was nominated for video of the year at the African Gospel Music Awards (2013) which was held in the UK. Other contenders for this award were Nathaniel Bassey, Sammie Okposu, Nosa, Tim Godfrey and Arron T. Arron. Even though the award went to Nathaniel Bassey, Cute believes that he has only just started and there is so much more to come.
“Our GOD” Won two awards in MEGA awards for the single of the year & the Best Alternative Single of the year 2014. cuteSAGAY is associated with acts like Buchi, Nosa, Frank Edwards, Toyin Adebola, Bouqui, Ceewai, and a lot more. Cute, even though seemingly new in the industry (on a professional stance) has pushed the envelope so far and keeps challenging himself to grow every day.
He made history as the first Nigerian artist to have a holographic video shoot used in commemorating the Nigeria at 50 event held in Accra, Ghana in 2010. He has graced various stages across Africa while remaining a praise/worship leader in his home church.
cuteSAGAY is indeed one of the artists that will shine forth the light to championing the future and a whole lot more.
